Wood turning is awesome!
Its a unique combination of craft, art and a “sport”.
The hand – eye coordination and split second control it commands, take all available attention.
For me, the only things thar compare to wood turning are surfing ocean waves and riding a mountain bike down a winding single track through a forest. All three have in common circles of turning energy – the wave, the bike wheels and the turning lathe. Surfing the critical part of the wave, controlling the bike and making a perfect final cut for the bottom of a bowl, they are all a swirl of adrenaline in my head.
Wood turning is very different from any other kind of wood work, i can be turning bowls for days without even once using my measuring tape.
